What's new:
What's new at LaserNet -- 2000

Perhaps the highlight of 2000 came in the first few seconds. Lasers are a natural for big events like the arrival of the millennium. We had six incredible events booked for New Year's. All of them came off perfectly, including national TV coverage of our laser countdown in Miami.

For the 7th year in a row, we were pleased to participate in Miami's Christmas Pageant. This is a favorite show of the crew because it's so much fun. The beautiful sets and excitement of the performers makes us glad to be part of this great seasonal event.

On top of getting ready for New Year's Eve, we got an urgent call from the Dominican Republic for a Christmas show. This was in the National Theater for one of their local big-name entertainers.

Miami's famous White Party continued with a new event at the Miami Arena. The party was amazing with our 2 white light laser systems and the 20-Watt YAG jamming all night. In fact, a circuit party poll voted the light show the "Best of the Year!" (How are we going to top it next year?…stay tuned)

Powerhouse 2000 was a local radio station show at the new American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami. 20,000 screaming fans crowded the Arena for the Hip-Hop/Pop show that featured our 60-Watt YAG laser and white light graphics. The YAG, our "three headed monster" looked incredible with the main scanners and the two fiber optic remote scanners blasting lasers to the roof of the huge arena.

Our laser crew embarked to France to begin the laser system installation on the new Celebrity Cruise Lines ship, the m/v Millennium. The Chroma 10 white light laser system, to be incorporated into the main showroom, featured four scanner heads and over thirty bounce mirrors.
s an "owner install" we came in after the ship was nearly finished. It turned into a real challenge, drilling through firewalls and then being inspected by Lloyd's of London! We passed all inspections and the lasers are jumping out of everywhere via our fiber optic remotes.

While one crew was on the ship, another crew was at Orlando's Hard Rock Live for our 2nd annual circuit party. The packed house danced all night to the high-energy music and  lasers!

We helped open a major attraction in South Dakota with our 15-Watt white light Professional LaserPro permanent installation. The Falls River Park, a city park of Sioux Falls, has had over 50,000 people view the nightly sound and light production that tells the history of Sioux Falls through the famous waterfalls. The 45-minute show uses laser graphic animation to visualize the history of South Dakota.
Congratulations to the City of Sioux Falls and especially to Director, Lary Etten. We're proud to be a part of the production team.

Our real excitement came with our permanent nightclub laser installations: Miami's renowned "South Beach" came alive with the new G-Spot Nightclub.

Other club installs included Ft. Lauderdale and Clearwater, Florida, St. Louis, Missouri, with in-progress systems in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Detroit, Michigan.

At the recent ExpoLatina, we sold a 20-Watt Yag system to San Jose, Costa Rica.

A few of our memorable shows include: William Morris Agency at the exclusive Ocean Reef Club. We set up on the beach for a "beach party" (duh) and blew them away with white light graphics and our 20-Watt YAG. Lucky for us, the weather was great and the wind was constant, allowing us to place the smoke machine in perfect alignment with the laser beams, making for an amazing show.

4,000 people from Motorola came to the Broward Convention Center for their annual employee party. Magician, dancers, acrobats and our high-powered lasers made for a night they won't forget.

New Year's
2000 -- the new millennium

New Year's Eve came with a vengeance. We had seven shows booked, but the big one in New York cancelled, leaving us with six incredible events. It started with national TV coverage of downtown Miami's laser countdown.

At the famous Doral Country Club, Michael McDonald, of the Doobie Brothers, sang in the New Year for FedEx. The show featured our high-powered white light system projecting onto a 50' high water screen. Plus, we used a 20-Watt Yag laser to create aerial dimensions over the audience. It was an amazing show.

Tampa's famous Ybor City was illuminated by two 20 Watt Yag lasers shooting up and down the street to a choreographed soundtrack. Thousands of people crowded the streets to celebrate the New Year.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica celebrated the New Year with a 5-Watt White light laser system. The people were "Jamming" to the lightshow as they rang in 2000.

The Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton celebrated the New Year with our 20-Watt Yag laser system combined with fireworks. The lasers were beautiful as they projected over the entrance reflecting pond.

In Puerto Rico the celebrating went on all night as the locals know how to party. (Our guys barely made it home alive in all the madness!)
