LaserNet guilty as charged! When PLSN’s online magazine recently reviewed the LDI 2008 lighting show, it stated that the place was filled with “Laser” beams and smoke! So much so, that it set off the smoke alarms of the convention center! (You’d think by now that for LDI, the convention center would know to TURN OFF THE SMOKE ALARMS!) But yes, we at LaserNet are proud to say we were responsible for shooting our laser beams safely throughout the LDI show. And, would like to thank all the other companies for sharing their smoke with us…especially Le Maitre who kept a steady stream of smoke billowing into the air! For those of you that did not have the opportunity to visit the show, LaserNet was proud to display our complete line of professional laser projectors. From 300mW to 10,000mW we had lasers of all sizes and colors. The latest addition to our product line is the SP1200RGB compact laser system, nicknamed “the Cube”. It features air-cooled RGB diode lasers and is guaranteed to have 1W of laser power coming out of the Cube. This unit has an ILDA input connector and therefore can accept any controlling software. The Cube was recently installed with raving success into LA’s Stock Exchange and to South Beach’s Mynt Lounge. Plus, an SP3500RGB will be installed into PURE, the newest South Beach Club to located inside the recently renovated, Fontainebleau Resort and Spa. Also featured at LDI was the SP12500RGB laser projector. This 10W White light laser system was built for the spectacular Cher show at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. And, this high powered laser system is now available for rental during the down time of Cher’s production. The two laser projectors responsible for shooting the majority of beams throughout the convention hall were the 5W Beam Raider RGB and the 8W Beam Raider 532. The Beam Raider projectors use an innovative turret beam delivery system that allows beams to target mirror in a 360’ radius. Plus, with LaserNet’s custom DMX beam control system, we can simultaneously project 24 static beams while scanning aerial patterns. So, this means you can create an amazing Liquid Sky effect while, at the same time, have beams bouncing from mirror to mirror in your club! Plus, now all LaserNet projectors are truly “plug and play”! They are all Pangolin Powered with the latest in laser entertainment software. LaserNet continues to set the curve in laser entertainment design.

LaserNet hosts the world's laserists LaserNet hosted the International Laser Display Association (ILDA) annual conference in early September. The group met on the Carnival Imagination, which features an onboard installation of LaserNet lasers. As host, LaserNet produced three events: the ILDA Awards, a lido deck party (for the entire ship), and the ILDA Lase-Off (a demonstration of various shows). By all accounts, the conference and LaserNet's hosting was a first-class treat for the laserists, who came from as far away as Russia and China to attend.

LaserNet rocks with ZZ Top This year’s nationally televised Orange Bowl Half Time show featured ZZ Top performing their hit, “Sharp Dressed Man” accompanied with lighting by Daniel Charif and LaserNet. The lighting director, Charif, used 24 Syncrolites, 24 MAC 2000’s and follow spots to make the stadium come alive. His GrandMA was busy as the show went live nationwide and he controlled all the lighting, including 11 smoke machines to fill the stadium. LaserNet supplied two 25-watt Verde Beam Raider YAG special effects projectors for the event. The two systems were linked together via a DMX computer and each projected a mirror image of the other. In this configuration, programmer/operator Horacio Pugliese was able to create 3-dimensional beam structures with perfect symmetry. Since each Verde Beam Raider has 10 adjustable beam positions used to target external bounce mirrors, the LaserNet team had 20 static beams to create different looks for the concert. LaserNet had two extra challenges to deal with for this event:
Fortunately for LaserNet, the overhang of the upper stadium seating sections provided the perfect separation from the public and our laser beams. And, the FAA allowed LaserNet to project in one direction at an angle from 45° to 90°. Even with these limitations, LaserNet created a dramatic look that rocked with ZZ Top.
